Why the frick is Lost Realm taking up so much of my CPU?

Hmm. It's taking up consistently under 14% CPU usage (of a single core) on mine, but it's also using 250MB of RAM.

Anyway, nothing I can do about this without making the game look or perform worse. It is, quite simply, not my fault.

Went down since I first considered posting (233M), but was at 250.7M mem usage. Bouncing around 3-4% of 1574 MHz, so around 45-60 MHz.

I was actually playing on LR from another computer - running Win7, 64-bit. According to Resource Manager... oh, just look for yourself:

It seems to me that it's a BYOND problem. There's nothing that Raven can really do about it.

Well, I am assuming your processor is a single core if it's really taking up that much. Dream Forge (Aswell as most high end byond games) does take up alot of CPU for older systems. It's a matter us low end computers users will have to get used to .

Ok, yes, my laptop is a single core. And yes, I don't have the right to complain with the (main) computer running Win7 because it's got 4 cores and is running with about 2-3% of the CPU.

But the memory is through the roof.

I guess I forgot the headings... oops. As far as I know, it's:

Processor Name || Processor ID || Memory in use / allocated in K

I'll edit once I get another look.

Well, his laptop isn't that bad, it's just the processor weighing it down. The majority of North Americans have computers over 5 years old and they run single cores. My computer has a Intel Celluron 3.2ghz processor and 2gb of ram, better than most dual core processors.

I have a Vista that used to have a hard drive problem and that's what I'm typing this on. I can sometimes get on the XP but most of the time someone else is using it, and there's a Vista with a graphics card that I can almost never go on because it belongs to my brother. Other than a crashy WIN98, that's all.

stick your problem is laptop, the reson for that is: same tech, buuuut not anywhere neer as much so it is also not a powerfull. and NO its not gona chainge much if you buy another laptop, they still sucky.
